CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Costs / Course fees
For participation in AHS courses, course fees – staggered according to students, employees, alumni (former students) and guests – must be paid at fair conditions. If individual courses require special equipment, which is stated in the course information, the costs for the purchase are to be borne by the participants themselves. Payment is made by SEPA direct debit approx. 2-3 weeks after online booking via the AHS digital booking system. Other payment methods (e.g. cash payment) are not possible.
If a direct debit cannot be honoured due to an objection, incorrect bank details or insufficient funds in the account, additional costs will be incurred due to chargeback fees charged by the respective bank and an additional processing fee of €5 per affected booking by the AHS secretariat. This will be charged to the person responsible:
  • the course fee
  • the chargeback fee of the bank
  • the processing fee of the AHS secretariat
If this invoice is not paid by bank transfer within a period of 2 weeks, the person will be blocked from booking further AHS courses in the AHS digital booking system. It is also pointed out that the corresponding outstanding payment amount will be claimed by the legal department of the University of Koblenz in legal dunning proceedings. In justified cases, the AHS may agree to a cancellation of the course booking. As a rule, a cancellation fee of €5 per booked course will be charged.
Binding nature of the booking

Binding nature of the booking
Every course booking is binding and cannot simply be cancelled. The payment obligation resulting from the course booking also applies if the course was booked by mistake or the person making the booking is unable to attend for personal reasons.
When booking a course, the course period must be carefully considered. Anyone who chooses a course in the wrong period is still liable to pay.
The course fee is valid for the entire course period of the course to be booked – unless explicitly stated otherwise in the course description.

The following persons are eligible to participate in the AHS course programme:
  • Students & employees of the University of Koblenz and Koblenz University of Applied Sciences

Insurance and liability
Students and employees of the Koblenz universities are insured against accidents during the AHS courses and on the way to/from the course via the Unfallkasse Rheinland.
There is no liability insurance cover, so each participant should check for themselves whether they have liability insurance, as the university or its organisers are not liable for damages or compensation for pain and suffering caused by improper handling of equipment and fellow athletes.
Course instructors/volunteers are covered by liability insurance through the AHS.
Guests are not covered by accident insurance through AHS or Unfallkasse Rheinland and must therefore take out their own insurance. Trial training is not possible!
Please note: Sports accidents or damage to equipment must be reported immediately at sekretariat@ahs-koblenz.de or by telephone on 0261 / 287-1786.
Exclusion and cancellation of courses
The AHS may cancel courses, e.g. if the number of participants is too low. Course fees already paid will then be credited or refunded if necessary.
Some courses are categorised according to ability level. It is at the discretion of the course organiser to refuse participants if they do not reach the level of performance required in the course. It will be decided on a case-by-case basis whether or not the course booking will be cancelled and the course fee refunded.
Some courses require the purchase of special (protective) equipment and/or special equipment (sport-specific rackets, clothing, etc.). This will be stated in the course information and participants must adhere to the requirements.
The health and well-being of our participants is important to us and we attach great importance to ensuring that there are no relevant health restrictions or infectious diseases that could affect participation in the course. However, if there are any health or physical restrictions, it is your duty to inform the course instructor in detail before the start of the course.
If participants disrupt the proper running of the course, e.g. through inappropriate behaviour, they may be expelled from the course by the course leader and permanently excluded from the course by the AHS team or, in particularly serious cases, from the entire AHS programme.
AHS reserves the right to cancel courses if the number of participants is too low. The participation fee paid will then be credited or refunded. Costs for personally purchased sportswear, course materials etc. will not be reimbursed by AHS.
Verhaltenskodex
Code of Conduct
The General University Sports Programme in Koblenz sees itself as respectful, tolerant and fair.
Participation in the AHS programme requires adherence to the following rules of conduct:
  • I respect the right to physical integrity and do not use any form of violence – whether physical, psychological or sexual. If my sport involves a certain degree of sport-specific physicality, I will enforce the sport-specific rules of fair play and ensure that I treat each other with respect.
  • I am aware that my behaviour may have a different effect on my opponent than intended. I therefore recognise and respect individual feelings of closeness and distance, privacy and personal boundaries of shame. I adapt my behaviour accordingly and behave empathetically and self-critically as well as openly and willingly.
  • I actively oppose verbal or non-verbal violence, discrimination, racism, sexism and inhumane behaviour (this includes, for example, sexually suggestive remarks, derogatory or insulting comments and inappropriate and unwanted physical contact).
  • I support the non-discriminatory participation of all people, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation & identity, religion and origin.
  • I maintain open and respectful behaviour towards others when participating in university sport. I exemplify respectful behaviour and consideration towards other people and nature in the sporting environment.
Violations can lead to exclusion from the course, permanent exclusion from the entire AHS programme and also to criminal prosecution.
